Framed Atlas Beetle

The atlas beetle (Chalcosoma atlas) is a large species of beetle found in Southeast Asia. They are named after Atlas, a notable giant from Greek mythology.

Males are larger than the females of this species, and have specialized horns on their head and thorax which they use to fight each other for mating rights.

This species is framed in a 8” x 6” wooden shadowbox.
