Framed Cicada

The dog-day cicada (Neotibicen canicularis) is species native to Canada and the US. The cicada is known to be among the loudest insects known to man; a swarm can produce sounds up to 120 decibels. Adult cicadas have a lifespan of approximately 4 to 6 weeks which follows a gestation period 13 to 17 years.
